Appliance 3.2 – Long term commitment to our customers and to the Appliance offering

PKI Appliance with an integrated HSM

In July this year we released version 3.0 of the PKI Appliance, with a new and up to date hardware and software stack. This was an important step in the PrimeKey Appliance journey and further sustains our commitment and strong belief in the need for this type of product in the market.

As we promised in July, we are now releasing version 3.2 of the Appliance, including a software stack that is fully backwards compatible with the 1st and 2nd generation of Appliance hardware. Choosing the PrimeKey Appliance is a secure and long-term investment, and existing customers on a previous version of the Appliance holding a support and maintenance agreement can find upgrade procedures and instructions on PrimeKey support download area. Please note that upgrades from 2.x to 3.2 is done via USB stick.

Highlights from the 3.2 release:

  • Access to the latest versions of the PrimeKey PKI and Signing software EJBCA 6.15 and SignServer 4.4.
  • Unified software stack for appliance for PKI and SignServer Appliances from 1st. and 2nd generation allowing combination (combined cluster) of both hardware generations.
  • The existing functionality to do backups to NFS is complemented with USB based backup and restore functionality.
  • Syslogs can now be exported to multiple servers, enabling for example redundancy.
  • You can now configure all certificates used for authentication towards the Appliance to be checked via OCSP. This is for instance interesting to check client certificates used to authenticate users logging in into SignServer to generate signatures.

Thank you and we hope you enjoy our latest release!
